It has been a long and windy road to determine where our boys might fit into the grand scheme of Beauceron Stud Dogs in the USA. It is a strong passion of mine to be able to provide quality choices for the Beauceron fancy to utilize within the US. However, with that passion comes fear and hesitation. How can I protect my standards of care and puppy raising? My boy's reputation and quality? How can I make hard decisions among friends without hurting feelings or with fellow community members without offending? How can I offer support without being overbearing?

 

So very many questions have ran circles in my mind. It became a close reality that I would not offer any stud dogs to the public. Several breeders do that, or only work among very close friends, but I had to ask myself, "Is that the best choice for the breed?" The answer is no. So, I have created a stud dog contract that, quite frankly, is ridiculous and I probably wouldn't sign it myself. But, it is what I determined I needed to compromise with myself.

Please contact us via email with your inquiry. Please share details as to why you feel this is a productive pairing. These details should include a written critique of your female's strengths and weaknesses, from structure to temperament and pedigree. If she is a proven producer, please provide information about her previous pairings including sire, number of puppies, dew claw status, and titled progeny. A stacked photo and a headshot of should accompany. If progeny photos are included that is a great bonus!

Minimum Requirements

• All females must be health tested. Our minimum requirements are OFA Echocardiogram (completed after 2 years of age or within 6 months of the breeding), OFA Hips, OFA Elbows, and a current OFA CERF Eye exam. We also love to see additional testing for HUU, DM, Vwd, patellas, spine, shoulders, dilute testings, thyroid, etc.

• There are several pedigrees that we consider high risk for either health, temperament, or lack of type. These pedigrees are seldom approved, but there is always exceptions to the rule. Please be prepared to justify your pedigree choices and acknowledge the risk. 

 

Stud Dog Fee or Puppy Back

We have put a unique spin on stud dog fees. First and foremost, we were bitch owners! We know the tribulations that attempting a breeding may bring. It is painful to write a check worth thousands for just 2-3 puppies. So, we designed a sliding scale fee system that we feel will be beneficial to both stud dog owner and breeder! Each of our boys has their fees set individually based upon merit, pedigree, and accomplishments. We do reserve the right for a puppy back and we will only choose at 2 days before 8 of age. You must be willing to delay assignments and ear crops if necessary.
